People say you’re lovely People say you’re cute But I don’t think in that way You’re more than just a beauty Somehow you turn those men on Somehow you make your tricks But I don’t think in that way You’re more than just a magic Here you go I wanna know The inside of you … baby Here we go Take off those clothes Real side of you... Starmeow Rock
2.
Yeah we’re gonna sit down to make some of our music here Yeah we bring out guitars to make some melody Oh my baby don’t like it because I’m away Oh my baby loves it when I’m on the stage Yeah you know we are so into music Yeah you know if you love me you don’t have to say it Make love song, we make love, and we make love song again
3.
Launching into space Orbiting the earth Releasing my hot desire I’m a space reptile Calling mission control We’ve found a small hole Please send the rescue To our broken vehicle Mating with zero gravity In the interstellar orgy machine Finding truth in the universe Oh you can doubt, or you can believe Or just watch me Was it a meteorite strike... Was it sabotage Doesn’t matter to us... Doesn’t matter to me Just watch me… I’m a space reptile

HAPPY MEMORY 05:53
Hey, it hurts me to say The time has come to part To go our own free way Like Fleetwood Mac would say Girl we always knew This time would come to you and me This whole thing had no reason But we sure had a lot of rhyme I don’t wanna be just your happy memory I don’t wanna be just your other guy You wanna see the world, I know that baby You wanna tryout into something new I wish to come for the ride I wish I can come along for the ride Don’t try, don’t cry, just live with your life When you miss me remember we liked to sing that song, I wrote for you and we sang … Hey, I’m happy to say You liked my cuddle time To go for our own free way We believe in come what may Girl, we always knew This time would come to you and me This whole thing had no reason But we’re sure we had a lot of … fun … Our song will never end...

GREEN ARMY 05:18
Watching the news everyday It says you’re killing lives You use machines and cars Saying, “to improve our life” Looking at the people on the streets, everyday passing by They’re squeezed like zombies Staring at nowhere to find This city is burning with desire Some of my good friends are yelling to survive So you better listen to our voice or you … Get through me And my green army
6.
Today is another day to go for another day My hands are dirty right now, but I’m gonna wash dirt away You say that life is to hold on, but I will paint it up to my way My dream of rock will go on no matter what you say And I hear...ohhh....babe Ohh... We will go on Nobody can stop By singing this song You know there’s something worth you to stay Together we can Go flying away By saying we can You know there’s a place called make it my way
7.
Homeless Starving Violent We’re all shivering Forgive For life For you For everybody John has no parents He used to grow on his own Here came the gangsters Who can make him a living Linda was cute She used to struggle at home Here came her daddy Who raped her over and over You’re my only Mona Lisa Believe me now Take my hand we can go farther We’re lucky to say We’ve got love for each other That’s what we’ve got to hold on We can make it someday together He swears to Linda “We’re born to be stars” Pick up his guitar He managed to form up a band With the dream he desires His voice in everyone’s mind Pick up her backpack She managed to travel the world With the dream she desires She wants to save the nature
8.
What do you want Can’t you tell me So why you think that way I couldn’t care less I don’t wanna discuss I’d just do it So why don’t you say it I will do it What do you want from me? I had you enough, you see What do you want from me? You’re making me bleed Wooo, still can’t you see? Wooo, you’re making me laugh You’ve made me to love you And hate you so much What do you want from me? I had you enough, you see What do you want from me? You were my ecstasy What do you want from me? Don’t lean on me babe, don’t you What do you want from me? You’re making me bleed What do, what do What do, what do ... What do you want from me?

about

The record was recorded "as live" at Hong Kong's Sunset Studio with engineer Paul MacLean looking after the knobs & sliders; vinyl mastering from the masterful Philip Daryl Emond.

In November 2019, press : release said...

"Somehow in the space of only a few months, after we first saw Qi do a 15 minute set at the Wanch in early summer, they have now amassed at least 90 minutes of gnarly material. Gnarly seems the right word to describe their pop smarts as twin guitars intertwine with bashed drums, hi-octane choruses, groovin' bass and as always, the sort of writhing convoluted energy-packed stage charm that is the Qi phenomenon. Earworms galore. We were talking about how 2 or 3 spins of Qi songs in the car would have us singing along at every gig. Qi's choicest charms are stadia fodder we reckon."

This is the debut album from Qi. Titled SOLSTICE it captures these musical provocateurs as they exploded onto the scene, providing the antidote to a back-drop of protest & anarchy - from their first live-gig on the Summer solstice of 2019 to laying down these recordings over the Winter solstice they've postured & posed, riffed & seduced their way into the heart of HK's live music scene.

Here they for the first time on vinyl.
